  Pastor Rob and Pastor Sherri Walters founded Freedom and Healing Ministries in 2023. Married in 2009, both Pastor Rob and Pastor Sherri experienced firsthand profound freedom and healing in their own lives. 

 Pastor Rob accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the tender young age of 5 years old and heard the call of God on his life to be a pastor at age 16. But he strayed from the Christian walk and followed the flesh getting involved in fornication and other sin. This resulted in his experiencing a situation that created trauma and he dealt with trauma with drugs and running from the Lord. 

In 2006 while working as a DJ in Washington DC and addicted to lust, partying, and methamphetamines; Pastor Rob heard the audible voice of God telling him that he was going to leave his life of sin and debauchery behind and return to his hometown of Baltimore to serve God and fulfill the call on his life.

Shortly after, he did return to Baltimore and moved in with mom and brother, and began once again attending the church he grew up in. Pastor Rob is gifted in teaching, preaching, mentorship, discipleship, leadership and biblical counseling. He is the backbone of Freedom and Healing ministries and an integral part of everything we do and every decision we make. 

 Pastor Sherri grew up with in an unstable household with a mom who struggled a great deal with mental illness. Sherri experienced sexual abuse that began at the age of 5 years old. At the age of 6 she began being abused by a different person (an older child) and after 2 years an adult witnessed this happening. Sherri was told by that adult it was her fault, and that she should be ashamed of herself and to never speak of what happened to anyone. This resulted in a young girl full of shame and self-hatred who grew up never feeling she had any worth. Pastor Sherri had very severe anxiety as a child as far back she could remember. When she was 15 her boyfriend of 2 years suddenly committed suicide without warning, triggering deep trauma in a teenager already struggling with severe anxiety and depression. Desperate to escape her pain Sherri began using alcohol, cocaine, and boys to numb the pain. By 18 she was pregnant and married.

By 1995 the marriage ended due to abuse and in 2002 she married a much more abusive man who turned out to be both alcoholic and drug addicted. On January 5, 2005, Sherri decided to end her life because she could not escape her abusive husband who beat her most days severely and nearly ended her life or the crack addiction that held her in bondage she didn’t believe she could ever escape. But as she was about to end her life in a little bathroom with a fractured jaw, everything changed. Sherri heard God speak to her unmistakably and tell her if she went through with the suicide in that moment it would be her then teenaged daughter who would find her dead body in the morning and that her daughter would never get past it and her life would be destroyed by the same demons that had been after Sherri all her life. In desperation Sherri said, “If you think you can do anything with my life I will serve you the rest of my life, but I don’t really believe you can.” She decided to wait until the next day when her daughter was in school to end her life. 

But something changed that night and she experienced the mercy and love of God and her desire for drugs or alcohol of any kind was immediately taken from her. God made a way for her to escape her abusive husband and she immediately began attending a church a friend invited her to and later that year joined the worship team. It happened to be the church Pastor Rob grew up in and in 2006 Pastor Rob began attending and Pastor Sherri met him during worship rehearsals when he joined the audio-visual team, and they became friends. In 2007 they joined a small church plant where Pastor Rob served as an elder and director of Christian discipleship and education and he was also a regular part of the preaching rotation. Pastor Rob and Pastor Sherri began dating that same year (2007) and married in 2009.

They have been doing ministry together since before they began dating and ministry became the primary focus of their lives. In 2021 Pastor Sherri clearly heard God tell her he was calling her into spiritual warfare and intercessory ministry. In 2022, God spoke in an unmistakable way that He was calling Pastor Sherri into deliverance ministry. Both Pastor Rob and Pastor Sherri had life changing experiences receiving deliverance. As she was set free from the spirit of fear Pastor Sherri received complete divine healing from CPTSD so severe it was starting to cause agoraphobia. She had suffered with it for over 17 years. She was also freed at the same of crippling anxiety that had been there as long as she could remember.  As a result of another deliverance Pastor Sherri was healed from severe hearing loss that had caused her to need hearing aids for 18 years. Many other healings followed in the same year. 

Freedom and Healing Ministries was created with one primary mission in mind; to glorify Jesus Christ and advance the Kingdom of God by allowing God’s love to flow through those who part of Freedom and Healing’s Ministry Team to serve others by helping them find freedom and healing in their lives. Those who are involved in ministry at Freedom and Healing Ministries understand that it is God alone who can bring complete freedom and heal every wound. We also understand often God works through people to accomplish this in others. And we are willing vessels directed and led by God and partnering with God. We are excited to see God do the miraculous and reveal His glory and God has never let us down!

This is the vision Pastor Rob and Pastor Sherri were given by God. They are simply people who have experienced the transforming power of God in their lives and deeply desire to see others experience the freedom, healing, and abundant life they now have. God in his infinite goodness has responded to that desire and obedience by working through Freedom and Healing Ministries as they minister deliverance, healing, support, encouragement, biblical counsel, prayer and discipleship to others. Hundreds have been impacted and experienced changed lives as a result of this and this is all done without charging those we minister to. We do accept and greatly appreciate love offerings to help cover the cost of ministry as led by the Lord, but this is strictly on a voluntary basis as God leads people to support the work we do.

 In 2023 Pastor Sherri at the leading of Holy Spirit Pastor Sherri began working with people who were leaving or attempting to leave the occult, victims of satanic ritual abuse (SRA), victims of mind control programming many of whom had DID (dissociative identity disorder), targeted individuals, and those trying to overcome trauma and in need of inner healing. This is an of ministry area that has been long   missing in most churches in the body of Christ due to a shortage of qualified trained ministers. But by God's grace we have witnessed dramatically changed lives for those who have been ministered to by Pastor Sherri and what God is doing is nothing short of miraculous!

 We have witnessed the faithfulness, glory and power of God many times and this has become one of our greatest joys. In 2025 God again expanded the vision and mission of Freedom and Healing Ministries. The fact is truly qualified and well-trained deliverance ministers are an area where most churches today are lacking. Many deliverance ministers are never taught to dealing the strongman over demonic spirits and waste a great deal of time just going after and commanding out lower spirits while never dealing with the ruling strongman that is over the lower spirits. As a result, the one receiving deliverance may see temporary improvement in their situation but because the person who conducted the deliverance failed to deal properly with and cast out the strongman the improvement is temporary because the strongman opens the door for lesser spirits to come back in. We have successfully ministered to many who had previous deliverance that either failed completely or had very temporary results. 

We have also seen those who did not receive any improvement in prior deliverance with other ministries because there were things that were not dealt with prior to or during deliverance to allow the person to be set free; Such as ancestral covenants, kabbalah and other rituals that bind demonic spirits to people in ways that require very specific prayers to break or undo, evil alters that have been put in place within a person to allow spirits to return unless they are destroyed, and spiritual devices or implements used by demonic spirits to bind the person to the demonic spirit in a way that the cannot be cast out unless these spiritual devices and removed (for example spiritual cords, anchors, fetters, shackles, chains etc. 

We also know there are deliverance ministers and ministries that have fallen into the trap of making deliverance a performance spending excessive time have long unnecessary conversations with demons and actually getting rough with the person they are supposed to be helping or making such a show of the deliverance they are not respecting the privacy of the person they say they are helping but instead allowing embarrassing and humiliating situations to arise in some cases to exalt the deliverance minister instead of God. We have even heard about deliverance ministers using what equates to witchcraft to deal with a spirit refusing to leave.

Many people believe deliverance should be simple and clear cut and "the Holy Spirit will just tell you what to do". And I agree to a degree, but do we not train those with prophetic giftings on how to properly utilize the gift before releasing them to give a prophetic word. Do we not train those bringing a sermon to the body, or those praying at the altar, or those interpreting scripture or those giving biblical counseling or any number of other areas of ministry in the body of Christ?? Do we not also want them to be led by Holy Spirit? Of course we do! But that doesn't mean there aren't things people need to understand to be effective in ministry. Is not our God a God of decency and order? We need as many truly effective deliverance ministers as possible who are both well taught and always led by Holy Spirit.

This is why after much prayer and repeated confirmations given to us by God in multiple ways and through multiple people, we are excited to be able to say plans are underway to begin Freedom and Healing Ministry's Freedom Ministry Training. This is a Deliverance Training Program that will equip those who want to effectively minister to others and partner with God to see those who are demonized set free. Right now, this is in the early planning stages, but we hope to begin offering training in the spring/summer of 2026.
